I've been accused of running up the score in 2 outta 3 blowouts and in those 3 games i've scored 7 points in the fourth quarter, while i completely agree with not runnung up the score the losing team has to held more accountable. I take pride in my defense and while having to run every play vs all out blitz and right trigger run stop plays just to give the ball back in a game that is over with no chance of a comeback while having to defend 4 and 5 wr sets and hurryup offenses is worse than getting first downs by passing on third downs when up big to just run the clock out. The best complaint yet is by a guy who quit the game and then says i ran up the score....so you quit because you can't take a loss then complain....CLASSIC

So ur team scores an average of 35 points a game, and ur defense has only given up 37 points total the whole season, that definitely proves that you run the score up.....

Running up the score, u have won games 52-0, and 48-0 which is ridiculous when other people actually stop scoring to avoid breaking the rules but then ur here beating users by 40 and 50...

52-0 and got a good game pm from the user it was just one of those games where turnovers and short fields dictated the score and user was very cool about it and 48-0 the guy had 13 points cried about how lucky i was when i was up by 20 then he fumbled a kr i got it on the 6 ran it in and threw a pick and got it at the 1 and ran it in but quit out so it registers as a shut out just like the ravens game this week where the guy quit out and it registers as a shutout...what part of 52-0 or 48-13 is enjoyable had 2 great close games that coulda gone either way that were fun to play...if you get turnovers and have the ball inside the 20 or less repeatedly and run it and score what else can you do? I get up by four scores when possible then run it out....i'm not debating whether or not the scores are lopsided but at what point the other team is contributing to it.

thats true ive been in those situations but when im being allowed to score at will i usually just kick field goals or just start punting the ball

Im not judging or taking sides on this one way or the other. And it sounds to me you play an awesome defense.

Running up the score is a tough one as I have been on both sides of blow outs. It is considered disrespectful to your opponent and is poor sportsmanship and is not good on the league image, as players will leave the league. And for some players it does not take much for them to just give up and quit the league, and getting dedicated players for our league or any league is not easy. This is why leagues have rules in place.

However, I will never question a team that backs off and plays solid defense and scores on picks or fumbles. I know if I was to get a pick or a fumble I will run with it. (regardless of score)

Now if you can create a defensive guide let me know as I would love to purchase it. My defense is bad. Plus I keep throwing picks. For some reason I am having a rough season and I usually win more then I lose. It would be 50-0 by halftime if you played me. Lol.

Here is the deal. I'll make it very simple. IF ANYONE GOES UP ON BIG VS AN OPPONENT ID SAY ABOUT 28-35 POINTS YOU MUST RUN THE BALL! I DON'T CARE IF ITS RUNNING HEAD ON TO A BLITZ, POUND THE BALL! Passing the ball on third down to move the chains is not necessary. You must pound the ball. Pitches, counters, Dives, Stretches I don't care. Pound the ball! When your up big you must kill the clock!

Now like PoppasNuts said, when your on defense if you pick the ball or recover a fumble by all means if you can run it in for a score do so. I don't consider that running the score.

Also, I understand there is only a limited space on the football field. If your opponent can't stop you when running the ball and you score a RUSHING TD that's fine. It shows your trying to run the time out.

I also expect the play clock to be run down to zero every play. I know this makes games completely dredful but it must be down. Again like PoppasNuts said it makes owners leave and gives the league a bad rep. I practically eat, breathe and sleep this league so if anyone has issues with my rules by all means, you can leave. I work to hard to run a good league!
